In Our Nature

In Our Nature is my senior year project- a five-minute animated documentary exploring humanity's complicated relationship with the natural world.It has screened at over a dozen film festivals, winning "Best Animated Feature" at Longleaf Film Festival, and "Best Experimental" at Black Warrior Film Festival."

Lackadaisy

Lackadaisy is a short film directed by Fable Siegel and created by Tracy Butler. It follows a group of cats working for a speakeasy during the prohibition era, and their encounter with a rival gang.You can watch the full film here.I was a clean-up animator on Lackadaisy. All shots shown above are ones for which I was the clean-up animator- which involved inking over rough animation, coloring, lighting/shading, and pre-compositing. Sketch lines were added after inking, in order to mimic the aesthetic of the traditionally-animated films of the Xerox era.Rough animation by-Sasha Espinosa, Kayla Stith, Jacqueleen Muñoz, Mookie Tamara, Sagan Yee, Aimee Uehara, Zi Chen, Star Ren, and Lauren Bednar. Fish Have No Psychiatrists

I was the primary animator for the recently-released documentary film Fish Have No Psychiatrists: A Day with Andrei Codrescu, directed by Julian Semilian. Fish Have No Psychiatrists is a surreal collage-style documentary which explores the life and views of poet and NPR commentator Andrei Codrescu.All animations shown here are my own work.

Warrior Princesses

Warrior Princesses is a short film that I worked on as a lead animator, storyboard artist, and character designer. The story follows two princesses with elemental powers who, while exploring ancient ruins, discover a strange artifact and encounter a mysterious foe.All shots shown here are ones which I animated (rough, clean-up, and color).

The Forest Guardians

The Forest Guardians is a story concept that I have been working on for several years. I plan to write and illustrate this story as a webcomic, but I enjoy animating the characters in order to practice drawing them consistently and from different angles.The story follows three young animalfolk- Acorn, Ruby, and Celeste- who are chosen to become the new magical protectors of their forest village.

Impact

Impact is an unfinished short film that I conceptualized during my sophomore year of college. The story is set during the end of the Cretaceous era, and follows a bird and a mammal who survive a devastating asteroid impact.Though Impact was never completed, its art style inspired my later short film In Our Nature.All visuals shown in these clips are my own work.

3D work

I modeled, rigged, and animated these characters in Blender and Maya.

Who Do You Love? is an animated short that encourages people to consider taking the COVID-19 vaccine. It uses the metaphor of a devastating storm to illustrate how COVID impacted our communities.I was the character designer, background artist, and color artist for Who Do You Love.
